Education
Congo for Christ Center believes in providing equal education opportunities for both male and female children despite their social backgrounds. Education stands as a cornerstone in achieving our goals and it is one of the greatest gifts that we give to our beneficiaries for their future. We provide both the formal and informal education.
Education Departments
Congo for Christ Center is proud to have one of the best primary school in the city of Uvira providing quality education to children in the orphanage and from the community. Mango Tree Primary School (MTS) was established in 2013. This school is built within the CCC premises and it has six classrooms from grade 1 to grade 6. The Mango Tree School was built to provide education support to the orphans raised at the ministry and the other kids around Uvira and its surrounding. The quality of education with Christianity values provided there is a source of pride in the city and this has transformed the lives of many kids and family in the city. In the first year when the school opened we registered a total number of 196 students majority of this number are orphans from the community.
From the beginning of the Mango Tree School till to date 2595 students have gone through the school. From that number CCC has been able to provide 997 scholarship to different students from the community and our direct beneficiaries through support from our esteemed partners. As the moto states “each good tree produce good fruits”, the school has been producing competitive students in the education sector in the city of Uvira and Congo at large.
Since we started the school our grade six students have had the privilege of doing the final national exams ( TENAFEP) for 9 good years from 2014-2015 academic year to present, God has been faithful because we have recorded a 100% success for all our students. None of our students has failed in the final primary national exam rate.
Through the basic education foundation that the orphaned kids get from the Mango Tree School and the social support from their homes, has helped them to continue keeping this record even in their final 12th grade exam. We have recorded a 99% success from all our kids who have sat for the secondary national exams (EXAMEN D’ETAT).
As we work to elevate the quality levels of our beneficiaries, shaping them into future responsible leaders, Congo for Christ Center, with the support of our partners, has successfully sent 25 kids to various universities and colleges in the country and neighbouring country of Burundi pursuing different fields such as human medicine, civil engineering, social work, law, Entrepreneurship, IT, Communication, etc. Also on top of this Congo for Christ Center has been able to send 12 more kids to sit for vocational trainings in Uvira and Bukavu.
Congo for Christ Center provides its direct beneficiaries with the opportunity to pursue vocational training courses based on their vocations and interests. We have supported the professional education of 12 children (including 4 girls and 8 boys) in fields such as tailoring and automobile mechanics.
Considering our diverse target group, including vulnerable groups both inside and outside the Center, like single mothers, non-educated mothers, and the school dropout, Congo for Christ Center plans to start in the future continuous functional literacy classes. The aim is to equip them with skills in soap making, baking, tailoring, bag weaving, cloth dyeing, etc.

Education is of key essence for modern society. One needs to learn about culture, history and other important aspects so that they would be able to contribute to modern society.
Education molds people into leaders not only with knowledge about subjects, but it also shows them how to lead with emotions and true values. Educated people can easily differentiate between right and wrong, thus education helps reduce the crime rate.
Bad events are happening around the world – only competent leaders can help guide us down a good and right path.
Congo for Christ Center believes that through educating a kid in the community this will help to bring up a competent leader who will bring healing and restoration to the community. We already have leaders who are already serving our community in different fields. Congo for Christ Center also believes in equal education opportunities for all. The importance of education in society has always been great as it is irrespective of caste, race, gender, religion. Educated people are treated as equals and they treat others equal on the basis of their knowledge and competence.
In addition to this, educated people are open-minded and are able to listen and accept other people’s views regardless of the fact of how different they are. Education offers a possibility to live independently and thus be free. It is our shelter against financial storms and wrong decisions. This is the community that Congo for Christ Center is envisioning to see in the future and through the preparations of these precious kids in different fields this will be possible.
